Riederer MRI Research Lab and Department of Radiology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, Minnesota, United States Introduction: SENSE is a parallel imaging method [1] that has been used to provide reduction in acquisition time or improvement in spatial resolution in a variety of clinical applications. The basis for SENSE is to acquire data using a phase encode FOV which would generally cause aliasing, but to use previously measured coil sensitivity maps to account for this in reconstructing an unaliased image. In virtually all applications of SENSE done to date, the imaging field-of-view and coil assembly have been static during data acquisition.

Nehrke Philips Research Laboratories, Hamburg, Germany Introduction When continuously moving table imaging is applied to an extended virtual FOV that includes the abdomen and chest, the physiological motion of the patient must be addressed to achieve optimum image quality. Scanning under breath-hold conditions is unacceptable in most cases because scan time...

INTRODUCTION Influenced by the successful application of DWI to intracranial diseases, application of multistation DWI to whole-body has been proposed and used clinically for extracranial diseases [1]. However, the clinical impact of wbDWI remains limited due to technical difficulties which are inherent characteristics of multistation approach. As the continuously moving table (CMT) approach ha...

Introduction To increase the temporal resolution in time-resolved MRI, several view sharing (VS) techniques have been developed. Typically, high spatial frequencies are not fully sampled for all time frames and data from the different time frames are combined to generate full k-space data [1, 2]. In this study the VS concept was applied to share data between different slice positions for axial ...
